Fundraising
for the Club
The club has organised two very successful fundraising events
which has raised a fantastic sum of money for our one team.
To purchase top quality strips and equipment for the team a
very successful hillwalk took place in June 2005 from Oakbank
to West Linton (over the Pentlands Hill) which raised a magnificent
total of £1,617.
The players and parents
walked the 8miles over the Pentland hills to West Linton before
enjoying a lovely pub lunch and a well earned rest. The players
were then transported back home however some of the adults
even walked all the way back so some of us covered 16miles
which was a great day out for a worthwhile cause.
On April 1st 2006 the club organised a super fundraising disco
at Oakbank Social Club which raised another £1,000 for
the team. There were many fantastic prizes donated from various
sources and this event was another major success for the club.
With part of the funds raised
at our fundraising events the players have enjoyed attending
two 5 day Coerver/Adidas coaching camps in 2006. We were blessed with constant sunshine
when the club arranged a 5 day summer masterclass camp last
July which was closely followed by another 5 day course last
October. We are looking to repeat these courses next
Summer/Autumn as every player benefited from the additional
skills learned using the Coerver skills technique.
The club is committed to spending
every penny on the development of the team and to provide the
players with the very best gear and equipment available to
help them all make further progress.
