Our Lucky Mascots - Kyle & Bleu!

My other passion in life away from my love of football is a genuine love for gundogs in particular Irish Setters or Red Setters as most people call this beautiful breed.  Setters have been a great part of my life for many years both at home as family pets and success in the show ring including CRUFTS. 

The show ring has had to take a back seat so that I can devote all my time and energy into the football coaching therefore my setters have only been lightly shown during the past few years however I do try and campaign the dogs at some of the top championship shows in the UK.

Kyle (pictured to the right) has never missed a home game at Oakbank and along with me he is the first to arrive at the clubs venue and the last to leave! 

After every match finishes and the goal posts, corner flags etc have been stored away back in the clubs container he is free to race round the football pitch.  I often wonder what he thinks about when he sees everyone the player’s, coaches, and parents and grand parents get excited with the events taking place on the football park.  I may be superstitious however he seems to bring us luck whenever he wears the official Bankies scarf!! Stunning new arrival 'Bleu' (Kyle's nephew) arrived in the summer of 2008 and will make his debut in the show ring in November...'Kyle' & 'Bleu' look forward to cheering on the Bankies at all forthcoming home games.
